yet another iphone clone
http://www.techchee.com/2007/01/29/a...-iphone-clone/
iPhone is only coming into Asia market in 2008, there is no surprise that we’d see lots of iPhone-clones coming up in Asia before iPhone launched in 2008. Well, the copycats phenomenon has become a norm in Asia market, especially China.
M8, the rumored product of Meizu, which looks pretty much like an iPhone, but it was first reported having no cellphone function, which was said as purely a MiniPlayer, the newer version of its M6. The M8 was first said to feature a 533MHz Samsung ARM processor, a 2.6-inch screen and loaded with the Windows CE OS. This is something that we’ve rarely seen before , i.e an MP3 player with Windows CE loaded. Due its “imitation of design” of the iPhone, the touch-screen feature is difinitely a must.

A few months ago we were talking about a number of iPhone clones coming into the Asia. One of the clones was Meizu, and now it’s out in China and it’s call Hua Long IP2000. Not only it shares the general look and feel of an iPhone and the most daring part of this Meizu’s clone is it comes with a large image of apple behind. Specification wise, it’s got a 3.5 inch display, both MP3 and MPEG 4 playback and even a 2 megapixel camera. It costs you only $140 for the Hua Long IP2000, almost half price of the original. For those in Asia, now you don’t have to wait another year more, which you can straight away get a “preview” of iPhone. Of course,if you’re the real fan of Apple, then just wait till the real apple comes instead of wasting your $140.00 for the intellectual property thief. In China, there isn’t any copyright laws that can protect your pattern from copycats. So, what can Apple do for this? Lets keep an eye of it!

also from samsung...

It seems like before Apple iPhone hitting the Asia market in 2008, numerous Asian cellphone manufacturers are rushing to produce iPhone look-alike. After seeing the LG Prada and the Meizu, here is the answer of Samsung to iPhone. The newly announced Samsung phone is one of those in the Ultra series, the Samsung Ultra Smart F700, which is slidable! Once fully slide out, a QWERTY keyboard will be shown to you.

still yaic
http://www.pmptoday.com/2007/07/28/s...-transformers/
The Shearer V2000, powered by an ADI BF533 processor, has a beautiful brushed metal exterior and a 3-inch 16 million-color low-temperature polysilicon screen (LTPS TFT) that looks terrific displaying “Transformers” content. I don’t even care if it’s shaped like iPhone, only smaller. We’ve posted a good helping of press pics with “Transformers” wallpapers, which you’ll get to see after you go through the details of the V2000. It’s a pretty PMP, indeed, with RM/RMVB and AVI video support and DAT, MPEG added after a firmware upgrade. It also supports MP3, WMA, APE and FLAC music files and JPG, BMP, GIF. Other features includes an FM tuner, LRC lyrics and TTS (text to speech) with a firmware upgrade, built-in BBE and SRS sound enhancers, and it’s also a FC, SFC, MD, GBC, GBA emulator. The best thing about the V2000, as always because this PMP is a Chinese-brand, is the price: 799 yuan or just $106 for the 2GB model.

methinks that the iphone as it is
locked and all that jazz
is like sony ericsson's attempt
which in the end allows nokia to keep the lead
promising
but shooting itself on the foot
unless iphone weans itself from itunes
and all the cumbersome stuff
i will give it a miss
when it eventually arrives at our fair shores![]()

iTunes cumbersome? It's the best tool out there for managing your music library.
I came from a Windows background, way back in good old DOS and all that. Music management for me then, was simply a playlist in Winamp.
Now? All my music files are tagged correctly and even have beautiful Album Art.
But the part about being SIM locked is really IRRITATING.
And make the damn iPhone 3G.![]()
I find your lack of faith disturbing...
iPods aren't perfect, but you are right abt iTunes. It was the first software that made decide to rip and catalog all my CDs properly. Previously I had just ripped the odd song out etc.
Just got the 80GB iPod video to rerip in Apple Lossless.was waiting to see if they'd give us a new iPod with the iPhone interface (on last Tuesday's announcement) but it didn't materialize.
Had the Nano previously and wife had the 60GB ipod video.

i'm looking for the "black" phone CECT T-599. Any idea where to buy that? So far I haven't seen a demo on how they send out sms in Chinese. Would be interesting to see how fast you can write sms.
