since i have moved from an unlocked ipod iphone
to an unlocked almost 90% usable phone
i believe a new thread is in order
and to leave my original iphone thread alone

to make it easier for everybody

to those who are now using unlocked iphones

can you help me out here

1. how do you get incoming calls to display their numbers instead of unknown

2. is youtube working on your unlocked iphone?

3. is there a way to put hi-res photos on the iphone instead of the optimized version?

silly me
i've stripped my starhub remaining months down to basics
so doesnt have a caller id add-on
so actually question 1 is answered.

met up with my son in law in church last night
and he told me that stocks was working on his iphone
but needed a file to work on youtube
so his iphone is actually 100% working

now can anybody help

Plenty of juice at www.hackint0sh.org.

You can find YouTube activating scripts there. There are also instructions on how get caller ID working properly, hacking the voicemail button, etc.

With regards to the hi-res photos, you may not be able to do that, unlike with regular, photo-capable iPods.

This may - and I guess - due to the fact that the iPhone is not disk mode-enabled, and possibly the limitation in storage capacity.

Again, the foregoing is a guess.

If you haven't already got installer.app for your iPhone, go to http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/ and download AppTapp Installer.

Lots to add to your iPhone.

just remembered that my view sonic lcd monitor
has an ipod cradle
works well with the iphone too!
good listening/videos while you compute

My understanding is that for those that used 'anysim' to unlock, it will cause a lot of problem.

No sms, ringtone, hang, wireless not working etc..

People may not have done it properly. For the ones I have unlocked, I do it with fully restored iPhones with nothing in them except the necessary files.

Then again, I won't use anySIM myself.

you can use the versions you already have
